The issue of NCsoft linked accounts is not one that can be tossed aside likely, and can not be taken to them directly.
The more we bring it up, the more Anet will have to notice.

Just like how Auction Houses, Storage Increase, Hair Stylists, and RP Districts have cought their attention and will be added in a few weeks. Just like the Skill Hunter Title Split, Pet Controls, Trade Spam improvements, and all other important additions will.

Just because a lot of people notice/want it, doesn't mean ANet will think of implimenting it.

Did you give a.net lots money recently? Oh, then they'll give you some false hope instead.

Your wrong, and your attitude will only worsen the problem. Auction Houses, Storage Increases, Hair Stylists: This are all just nonsense. They're wants, not needs. The username issue is a NEED as it is a major security flaw, AND an outrageous lockout from our accounts. We are account holders, and we have certain rights that can not be alienated.

Password changing is also needed.

And I still can't do that.

Believe me, I've tried through NCsoft.

We have the rights we agreed to in the user aggreement. We are held responsable for our own accounts. the only reason there are passwords is because no one would play if their account could be hacked every second.

At least in this way you have to try to hack.

My attitude has nothing to do with account security.

Yeah, I've been spending the last week trying to get them to change my damn password... these people are obnoxious. This is MY ACCOUNT, not theirs. And they have no right to lock me out.
I say we zerg-rush South Korea and take over NCsoft so that we can force them to stop being obstinate assholes.

Why can't you people change your passwords? My GW account is linked to a NCSoft account and I change my password monthly. Or maybe this is another problem with something else...

But of course, instead of seeing a change to an important security flaw, expect to see a "New Mini-pet Battle Stances" update.

Bolded part is untrue. Your account, all your characters, all your gold and items belong to ANET. Not you. Anet. They can delete it all at any tme if they wish or ban you for any reason they want. Its their property.

Teridor is right, it is not your account. The account, characters, gold, items etc. all belong to ArenaNet, not you. You simply payed to use their account and play their game.

I have had the same username and password for nearly two years. This is arguably a stupid move on my part, however I am careful with the choosing of my information (the email is one I never use, nor give out. The password is creative; symbols, numbers, letters in no obvious order.) I have never had to change it.

If you really need to change it, I believe you can do so with your serial number. If you no longer have it, that is your fault. Now I agree that it should not require going to the NCSoft site. Possibly a secret question and/or a requirement to enter your information that you used to create the account (name, address, birthdate).

PS:Your thread was closed because it was in Q&A and it wasn't a question.

Yeah.. It'd be nice if we didn't feel so locked down, so to speak? I mean as far as passwords go my old ones are 15-16 chars long, and now you can only have a maximum of what was it 12-13 chars? that is lame.. i mean i am Extra safe when it comes to my passwords and i love to have them really long, so the shortening of it via PlayNC was kinda dissapointing and discouraged me to change it. We'll see what happens in the future.

AkumaZ is right. There really wasn't a question and it sounded more like a rant than anything else.

They aren't stopping you from changing your password. You just have to go through the site now.
If you're having issues changing your password all you have to do is send them a support ticket telling them why you can't change it and ask them to reset it. They'll send you an email with the new password and you can log in and change it any time you feel.

I agree. Also I find it amusing people rant and whine about ANet not meeting their every need and want. ANet is a company with a limited amount of people and the truth is they listen and they try, they care about us as people, gamers and as consumers. They want our money to live and as reward for their duties as is expected. Please look outside your shell and realize that the world that exists both outside and in this game is not perfect although ANet is doing what they can to make it as close to perfection as they can do with their limitation. Everything about the next expansion is their suiting our wants and needs. They stopped six month campaigns cause they want more features more time to give us more, for those of us complaining about us having to wait think of it this way: we can have a rushed campaign every six months or we can have a masterpiece on ANet's time.

Keep up the good work ANet. Everyone else please realize, we are all human beings capable of talent and flaws, please state your claims and requests nicely and collected, don't demand or threaten. Affection has better rewards than violence.

I think this issue is more complicated because there tying the GW account system to the NCSoft account system which is multi-game and much more complex. I almost suspect that they would have to re-write the on-line store to get this fixed.
